Boreionectes Zakharov 1965 (Bivalvia: Pectinidae) – a synonym of Maclearnia (Crickmay 1930)

The type specimens of Boreionectes and Maclearnia (formerly Mclearnia) from the Lower Cretaceous of western Canada and England respectively, are redescribed, refigured and interpreted as subjective synonyms at the generic level. Although the name Boreionectes has been used widely and Maclearnia has been hitherto rarely used, the latter has priority. It is treated as a subgenus of Camptonectes.
